The Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance is pleased to welcome Bigfoot old-time string band to the Listening Room at Drum & Strum this Saturday, January 6th. All household names in old-time music, the band consists of Rhys Jones, Cleek Schrey, John Herrmann, Susie Goehring, and Meredith McIntosh. Their combination of two fiddles, guitar, banjo, and the bass is powerful, unmistakable, and driving. Since then Bigfoot has toured, recorded, performed and taught extensively throughout the United States. Rarely seen outside of major festivals such as Wheatland or Grass Valley, Bigfoot is together again on the east coast preparing for a 12-day tour of the U.K. in February. They will be playing a variety of new material in their classic sound, including vocals from John, Meredith, Susie, and Rhys, powerful twin fiddling, and old-time tunes from both the Appalachians and the Midwest. Tickets are $25, seating is limited, and advance purchase is highly recommended. Children 12 and under admitted free with parent or guardian. Doors open at 7:30 and the concert will begin at 8 pm. Proceeds will go to the Gloria Faye Dingus Music Alliance a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to bringing life into the life of everyone.
