Best Bets: Living Christmas Tree, breakfast with Santa

More than 60 singers will perform in the annual Living Christmas Tree concerts this weekend.
Holiday events continue to entertain in Fauquier this weekend.

Topping the list, more than 60 singers in the shape of a tree will perform for The Living Christmas Tree concerts.

Other events include breakfast with Santa in Remington, GumDrop Square in Warrenton, “Sanders Family Christmas” at the Fauquier community theatre and a performance of “The Nutcracker.”

GumDrop Square and Santa’s Secret Shop
6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10
1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11
2 Courthouse Square, Warrenton

This Warrenton tradition features beautiful decorations and a visit and one complimentary photo with Santa. Afterward, children can shop for $2 gifts and have them wrapped. Free admission. Open every weekend from Dec. 2 to 18.

Living Christmas Tree
7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9
4 and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11

The 16th annual event features singers in the shape of a 25-foot tree with lights at the Warrenton United Methodist Church. An orchestra and choir with more than 60 singers will tell the timeless Christmas story. Free. Tickets recommended. For more information and tickets, call 540-347-1367 ext. 125.

“Sanders Family Christmas” at the community theatre
8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9-10
2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11

The Fauquier Community Theatre presents “Sanders Family Christmas.” The bluegrass gospel musical takes place on Christmas Eve 1941, as America and Dennis Sanders prepare to enter World War II. Pastor Mervin Oglethorpe and the rest of the Sanders family send Dennis off with hilarious, touching stories and 25 Southern gospel Christmas favorites. Tickets available online. Adults, $18; seniors 60+, $16; children 3 to 18 years old, $16.

Lasley Centre presents “The Nutcracker”
6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10
4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11
705 Waterloo Road, Warrenton

The Lasley Centre for the Performing Arts presents its fifth annual full-length ballet production of “The Nutcracker.” Following the performance, attendees can speak to cast members and purchase gourmet treats and souvenir items. Performances held at Fauquier High School. Adults, $25; children and seniors, $20 at the door.

Breakfast with Santa in Remington
8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11
200 E Marshall Street, Remington

The Remington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department hosts breakfast with Santa at the fire station. Adults $9. Children $6. Citizens who bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots will receive free breakfast.

Remington Lion’s Club Breakfast with Santa
8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11
11326 James Madison Hwy, Bealeton

Families can visit Santa at the Remington Lions Club with a buffet-style, all-you-can-eat breakfast. Photos with Santa and free vision screenings for children available. Adults 12 and older, $8; children ages 6 to 11, $6; children 5 and younger, free.
