The hospital began operating on emergency power Friday morning.
The hospital issued this update at 4:19 a.m. Saturday: Normal power has been restored at Fauquier Health. All services are back in place. Thank you to our community for your support and patience. And kudos to our wonderful staff for their resourceful, professional response to the logistical challenges presented by the storm.
Because of high winds, Fauquier Hospital administrators Friday declared “Code Orange” (electrical power disruption).
“The hospital is on back-up power,” spokeswoman Robin Earl said in a press release at 10:43 a.m. “All patient care, safety and communication systems are operational.
“All elective surgeries have been cancelled for today . . . Scheduled medical procedures and medical imaging tests (non-emergency) have also been cancelled. Patients have been notified.
“The Emergency Department is operating normally, as is the Infusion Center.”
Fauquier Health closed:
• The Wellness Center
• The Wound Healing Center
• The Sleep Center
