A restored, three-bedroom farmhouse on 65 acres near The Plains sold for $1.5 million last week.
Built in the 1830s, the house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, four fireplaces and a swimming pool. The Fox Den Lane property includes a four-stall barn, a workshop, a pond and fenced pastures.
Listed with Sheridan-MacMahon Ltd. in Middleburg, “Old Fox Den Farm” went on the market in May 2016 with an asking price of $1.98 million, according to Zillow.com. It last sold for $2 million in July 2006, according to county real estate records.
The Virginia Outdoors Foundation and Piedmont Environmental Council hold conservation easements on the Scott District property. Those easements permit construction of two more homes on the property, which cannot be subdivided.
Also last week, a five-bedroom home on 29 acres near Delaplane sold for $1.45 million.
Built in 1989, the brick house on Possum Hollow Road has stone terraces, a spa and heated swimming pool, a studio apartment above a five-bay garage, a six-stall barn and fenced paddocks.
