The holiday season begins with Bealeton parade

Morrisville United Methodist Church’s Charlie Brown float won the grand prize.
Children ride in The Flying Circus Airshow miniature planes.
Morrisville VFW Post 7728 members ride in a large military vehicle.
Families 4 Fauquier won the “Most Holiday Spirit” award.
About 50 organizations participated in Bealeton’s annual Holiday Parade on Saturday.

Hundreds of citizens gathered to watch the procession down Station and Village Center drives.

The chilly afternoon event featured farm animals, businesses, civil groups, churches, fire/rescue vehicles and the Liberty High School marching band.

Afterward, citizens gathered to write cards for military members.

The judges awarded trophies to these participants:

Most Holiday Spirit: Families 4 Fauquier.

Best in Show: Victor Lucas and family classic cars.

Best Performance: Messick's Farm Market.

Best Non-Profit: Liberty Community Church.


Best Sports Group: Mountain Kim Martial Arts.


• Best Youth Group: Girl Scout Troops 2117, 2246 and 2636.


• Best Animal Presentation: Mozey Moo & Friends.


• Best Overall Grand Prize: Morrisville United Methodist Church.
