Marshall home, 50 acres sell for $3.2 million

Built off Atoka Road in 1990, Salem Oaks sold for $3.2 million.
Menlough, on 8.8 acres on Warrenton’s Culpeper Street, sold for $1.4 million.
This home on Stoney Hill Road near The Plains sold for $1.25 million.
A four-bedroom stone manor home on 50 acres near Marshall sold last week for $3.2 million.

Built on Atoka Road in 1990, Salem Oaks features reclaimed wood floors, multiple fireplaces, an office, wine cellar, slate patio and a tiered infinity pool with spa.

The Scott District property also has a guest cottage, a garage with apartment, a stone and log center-aisle stable, an equipment barn, other buildings and a riding arena.

Salem Oaks went on the market with an asking price of $5.45 million in October 2016, according to Zillow.com. The property last sold for $4.95 million in November 2012, according to county real estate records.

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation holds a conservation easement on most of the property.

Three other Fauquier County properties also sold for $1 million or more last week:

• In Warrenton, the Menlough estate on 8.8 acres along Culpeper Street sold for $1.4 million.

Built in 1853, the home features six bedrooms and 6-1/2 bathrooms. It has an indoor swimming pool, a bomb shelter and a four-bay garage.

The property had been scheduled for a Sept. 28 auction, cancelled after the contract’s signing.

Menlough last sold for $1.275 million in August 2003, according to county real estate records.

• A four-bedroom home on 21 acres near The Plains sold for $1.25 million.

Built in 1988, the Stoney Hill Road home features two fireplaces, heart pine floors and a custom wine bar. The property includes a stable with apartment.

It went on the market in January with an asking price of $1.395 million, according to Zillow.com.

• A 50-acre horse farm just west of Warrenton sold for $1 million.

The Lees Ridge Road property includes a four-bedroom home with swimming pool, a tenant house, a 12-stall barn with hay loft, a smaller barn, two others buildings and seven pastures.

The property went on the market three years ago, with an asking price of $1.7 million, according to Zillow.com
