A 57-year-old Manassas women died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle traffic crash near Midland.
Driving a 2006 Nissan Armada SUV in the northbound lane of Route 28, Amy Louise Hough “ran the vehicle off the right side of the roadway and struck a parked trailer,” state police Sgt. Les Tyler said. “It was a dry bulk trailer — the kind that carries concrete powder and fertilizer.”
Ms. Hough died at the scene.
The Route 28 accident took place about 50 feet north of the Meetze Road intersection, according to Sgt. Tyler.
The July 1 wreck remains under investigation.
“We’re still looking into how and why it happened,” Sgt. Tyler said.
