Warrenton candidate forum set Wednesday, April 18

The Fauquier Chamber and local news organizations will sponsor the forum.
Candidates for Warrenton mayor and town council will discuss issues and answer questions during a forum Wednesday night, April 18, in the Taylor Middle School auditorium.

The Fauquier Chamber of Commerce, FauquierNow and The Fauquier Times will sponsor the event, starting at 6:45 p.m.

Mayor candidates Grace Rigby and Carter Nevill will take the stage first.

At 7:30 p.m., the forum will turn to the four candidates for two at-large seats on the town council — incumbents Sean Polster and Linda “Sunny” Reynolds and challengers Keith Macdonald and Renard Carlos.

Philip Mulford, a local mediator, will moderate the forum.

FauquierNow Editor Lawrence Emerson and a Fauquier Times journalist will ask questions of the candidates.

Audience members may submit suggested questions in writing during the forum.

You also may email suggested questions to Mr. Emerson at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Ms. Rigby and Mr. Nevill seek the open mayor’s seat, as Powell Duggan will not seek re-election.

The election will take place Tuesday, May 1. The new, four-year mayoral and council terms will begin July 1.

Warrenton voters in 2020 will elect the town council’s five ward members.
