Warrenton’s 38th annual Oktoberfest tops the list, taking place at St. John’s Church Friday and Saturday. The festival features German food and an authentic oompah band.
Beginning Friday, citizens can roam through spooky fiends and barns at Haunted Hollow just outside Warrenton.
Other options include an apple festival in Midland, a hike at Sky Meadows State Park, the Fauquier SPCA anniversary celebration, fall festival near Marshall, and an auction and bake sale near Bealeton.

Dayspring Mennonite Church in Midland hosts its 16th annual bake sale and auction. Homemade pies, cakes, cookies, fry pies and bread will be available for purchase.
