***UPDATED***

Liberty's Conference 22 girls basketball game against No. 3 Courtland has tentatively been scheduled for Thursday, according the Eagles activities director Dean Spahr.

No. 2 Liberty hasn't played in over a week while Courtland played last Friday night in a quarterfinal game.

The winner receives a bid to the 4A North regional later this month. The loser's season is done.

Conference 27 announced games rescheduled for Wednesday will be played at same sites and times on Thursday.

And the Delaney Athletic Conference finally has come up with a plan for its boys and girls tournaments.

According to Wakefield athletic Director Paul Sipes, all quarterfinal games have now been scrubbed.

Semifinal games will be played at higher seeds on Thursday as scheduled.

The championships now will move from Saturday to Friday with the Div. 2 girls game moving from Highland to Wakefield. That game now is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Highland will still host the Div. 2 boys championship (4 p.m.) along with both Div. 1 games.

The Div. 1 girls will play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m.

Weather finally has played havoc on local high school sports, evident by four forfeits in Conference 27 tournaments play and moving back start days and time in Conference 22.

No available information how the two Fauquier County private schools playing in Delaney Athletic Conference tournaments will transpire.

High School principals representing Brentsville, Kettle Run, Spotsylvania and Manassas Park met Monday.

They determined, via electronic means, the lower seeds in the respective boys and girls tournaments would forfeit their games allowing the conference schedule to remain somewhat intact.

The boys’ tournament originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, has been moved back to Wednesday.

The girls, scheduled for Wednesday, will continue as planned.

Both Kettle Run teams advance, with the girls and playing at James Monroe with games currently scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively, in Fredericksburg.

Brentsville’s two teams will travel to Culpeper Wednesday night with the same schedule.

If Wednesday still has unplayable conditions, the games will move to Thursday.

Should Thursday not work, the lower seeds will lose out on playing games and the top teams will try and meet Friday or Saturday.

If more bad weather prevents that scenario, the conference will revert to regular-season seeding and send its top teams (No. 1 Culpeper boys and No. 2 JM boys) and No. 1 JM girls and No. 2 Culpeper girls) to represent it in 3A East region play later this month.

As it stands now, the Conference 22 girls games, scheduled Tuesday night will slide back a day

But tournament director Mark Settle, activities director at Eastern View hasn’t completed details on potential format changes.

The Virginia High School League state swimming and wrestling tournaments will continue as currently planned.

The 4A swimming meet, where Fauquier boys and girls and a lone Liberty boy will participate) is scheduled for Thursday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

The 3A meet (Kettle Run boys and girls) will go on as scheduled Friday at the same location.

The 3A / 4A wrestling championship will continue as scheduled Friday and Saturday at the Salem Civic Center.

VHSL has already sent a memorandum to all high schools involved stating the state contests will be held regardless of weather – unless less than half the schools cannot make it to their respective sites.
