Conference 22 girls basketball coaches named four Fauquier County underclassmen to the 2014-15 all-conference teams according to King George High School activities Director Alex Fisher, Monday.

Liberty guards Ashley Lane and Makaila Kestner took first-team honors while teammate Sydney Williams and Fauquier guard Alissa Lewis accepted second-team nods.

“All three are a great buch of individuals.” Eagles Coach Ryan Washington said. “The future is bright for the team.”

Player- and Coach-of-the-year honors went to Chancellor’s Jayla Harris and William Griffin.

Chancellor led balloting with six selections while Courtland and King George each had four members on the three squads.

Eastern View had two members.

Lane, a junior, led the Eagles in scoring. Kestner played efficiently and near-flawless basketball all year.

After a home game this season, Lane complimented her teammate saying many times she forgot Kestner was only a freshman.

Sophomores Williams and Lewis both played key roles for their respective teams.

Lewis, who plays AAU basketball year-round, led the Falcons with a 10.2 scoring average and grabbed six rebounds a game.

“At 5-foot-2, Alissa is one of the strongest players in the conference,” Fauquier Coach Gary Croson said. “She’s very dedicated to the program.”
