Marshall Middle School principal to retire

Christine Moschetti has worked 24 years at Marshall, the last 12 as principal.
Marshall Middle School Principal Christine Moschetti has announced that she will retire at the end of the term in June.

Ms. Moschetti has been at Marshall Middle 24 years, the last 12 as principal and the previous 12 as assistant principal.

She began her career in education as a second-grade
teacher at St. Charles School in Arlington for one year, followed by 12 years as
a language arts teacher at Linton Hall School in Bristow.

She served four years as principal
at Linton Hall, then joined the Fauquier system as an interim assistant principal at Warrenton Junior High School for a year. She started a Marshall, which has 478 students this year, in 1989.

The process for the selection of a new MMS principal will begin in March, according to school system spokeswoman Karen Parkinson.

The school system has two principals to hire. Fauquier High School Principal Roger Sites announced in December that he will retire at the end of the term. Mr. Sites, in that position since 1992, has worked 45 years at FHS. The school system already has started advertising that position.
