Nothing. I love it.

• Why did you open the shop?

Fauquier County has been my home for years, and why not start a business in the area I love the most. My inspiration came from my mother years ago. Through prayer and faith, I knew it would be possible.

• Why hats?

I love hats and the way they complete an outfit. I love the way they brighten up a person’s face . . . . My mother’s statement was wearing a hat and gloves. Also, my whole family wore hats and it grew on me. We felt an uplifting, wearing a hat.

We sell fascinators, headbands, gloves, jewelry, purses, scarves, caps, men's hats, ties, cufflinks, tie clamps, tie chains and suspenders.

• Where do you wear hats?

Church, teas, weddings, horse shows, amusement parks, picnics — anywhere you want to cover your head.

• Why do you wear hats?

To accent your clothing, to protect from the sun, to add a little flare or to make a statement.

• What was the best day of your life?

The day my daughter was born.

• What do you do for fun?

I love reading, puzzles, listening to music and making hats.

• What is your favorite song?

I have a couple of favorite songs: “Higher Ground” and “Jesus the Light of the World.”

• What would you do if you won $1 million in the lottery?

Open another location and start a franchise.
