The Warrenton Horse Show features the $5,000 Hunter Classic on Saturday and Hunt Night on Sunday.
The Warrenton Horse Show, a Labor Day weekend tradition, runs Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 2-6.

The 116th edition features classes, exhibits and vendors on the historic show grounds at 60 E. Shirley Ave. in Warrenton.

Local and out-of-town riders will compete for prizes in jumping, breeding and showing categories during the five-day competition.

The show opens at 8 a.m. each day except Saturday, when activities begin at 9 a.m.

The Warrenton Horse Show Association, the oldest continuously operating corporation in Virginia, continues to preserve equestrian traditions.

Several foxhunter exhibition classes including ladies sidesaddle will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Junior, amateur and professional riders will compete in the $5,000 Hunter Classic at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Special activities include a horn-blowing exhibition, a Hunt Night tailgate competition starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, luncheons and more.

Admission is free Wednesday and Thursday, and $5 per person Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Children 12 and younger get in free each day.
