Bridge Community Church opens new building Sunday

The Bridge Community Church spent $4.6 million to construct its new building on 38.5 acres just south of Warrenton.
After a year of construction, The Bridge Community Church on Sunday will open its new, 20,800-square-foot ministry center just south of Warrenton.

The modern building provides a permanent home for the church, which has rented space at Highland School for the past 12 years. The Bridge started in April 2005 and has grown steadily since.

In addition to a 400-seat, theater-style sanctuary, the new building includes a large lobby, cafe, gathering hall, white box room, rear patio, kitchen and a number of secure rooms for children and youth activities and classes. The building can accommodate up to four events at the same time. It has parking for 145 vehicles.

The church began the expansion in 2010, when it entered the process of acquiring 38.5 acres, including some buildings, at 8776 James Madison Highway.

Construction of the new church cost $4.6 million.

Dr. Greg Hackett joined the church in 2013 as the lead pastor, and subsequent growth has allowed the congregation to bring on Connections Pastor Lisa Hackett, Worship and Youth Pastor Brent Henderson and Children's Pastor Danielle Dean.

The church seeks to get members and others as engaged as possible in worship, ministry, fellowship and other activities. It has designed the new building to ensure every worshiper can fully participate; even those in wheelchairs have a clear path to the stage when necessary thanks to electronic lifts, for example.

The Bridge will host a grand opening at the new site June 11. Identical Sunday worship services will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and from 10:45 a.m. to 12 noon.

The church has youth and children’s groups, which meet during the week, and a Thursday night prayer meeting at 7 o’clock.

While I understand the need for this church to have a permanent home, in viewing the above image, I wonder how the neighbors in their rural setting feel about the modern design in their viewshed as well as potential outdoor patio event noise impacts.
