Newly-named “Justice” gets some love at the fair Friday.
Facebook users have selected “Justice” as the name of the new Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office bloodhound.
“Fauquier County citizens have chosen Justice, with an overwhelming 47.1 percent,” Sgt. James Hartman said in an email. “A distant second was Harley with 18.6 percent, Memphis 13.5 percent, Mocha 11.5 percent and Cabela with 9.3 percent.”
After training, the female pup will be deployed to work the street with her partner, Deputy Chris Snyder.
“They will work patrol, and Justice can be used for criminal work and for search and rescue, including lost children and adults with Alzheimer’s,” Sgt. Hartman said.
Sheriff Bob Mosier made the announcement Friday afternoon during the K-9 Unit Demonstration at the Fauquier County Fair.
