Congressman’s aide will visit Warrenton on Tuesday

Rep. Tom Garrett (R-Va./5th)
A member of Congressman Tom Garrett’s staff will visit Warrenton on Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, to talk with constituents.

“Staff will be on hand to assist residents who have questions regarding Social Security benefits, Medicare, immigration, veterans’ benefits, student loans and other federal programs,” said Rep. Garrett (R-Va./5th), whose district includes most of Fauquier and stretches to the North Carolina border.

His staff member will be at the Warren Green Building at 10 Hotel St. from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The same type of meeting will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington, Va.

For more information, call his district office in Danville at 434-791-2596 or visit www.TomGarrett.House.Gov.

Tom Garrett has been great so far, and he is doing exactly what he promised to do. I wish we could say the same about our state level politicians. If Tom Garrett keeps up the good work, he should easily win re-election. He has been representing the VA 5th district very well.

I just received another mailing from Garrett at taxpayers' expense. Full of BS. Claiming HE passed various laws. He can't pass a law by himself just vote for or against it. Boastful. Remind you of anyone? What a waste of public funds. Politically related and bordering on illegality. Do we need a wasteful person like Garrett representing us in the U.S. Congress?

Liked Garrett's telephone town meeting, innovative way to stay in touch. We have disagreements but he is sincere with good intentions.

Meeting is from 10 to 11:30 AM. What about people who work? Especially those who work out of the county? So, I guess he gets to listen to unemployed and retired people only. What a cross-section of the community! Garrett is not interested in your input and only seeks to drain the public coffers by sending out propaganda mail that we get to pay for (just to stay in office). Another no-load member of Congress.

Don't waste your time going. The staffer sits there, once in awhile jotting something down. He never answers questions. One time he reminded us that he works a 40 hour week, doesn't work longer than that. One time one of the staffers conceal carried. There is no guarantee if comments get back to Garrett and, if so, in what format. Of course, we also know that Garrett pays no attention to constituent comments. He is not the fiscal conservative he claims to be, in fact, just borrowed over $1.5 trillion for the tax reform bill. Our children will be paying off that debt years from now.Garrett said he would balance the budget, not blow it to pieces. He hasn't done anything to protect the environment and our precious Chesapeake Bay. He needs to be voted out on Nov 6 for BETRAYING voters.
