Someone damaged Warrenton Cemetery headstones in April.
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Fauquier Court House on Saturday, Oct. 7, chapter will honor those raising funds to repair vandalism at the Warrenton Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Friends of the Warrenton Cemetery will be the honored guests at the DAR chapter’s monthly meeting. Maggie Lovitt, historian and Friends of Warrenton Cemetery board member, will be the speaker.
The new 501(c)3 non-profit organization is educating the public about Warrenton’s rich history that lies behind the gates of its cemetery and is continuing its efforts to restore the tombstones vandalized on April 12.
A social will start at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7, followed by the meeting, open to all, at 10 a.m.
