The five-member cast includes Shawn Cox as Sidney Bruhl, Michael Bertone playing Clifford Anderson and Elise Ariel as Myra Bruhl.
The Fauquier Community Theatre presents the thriller, “Deathtrap”, opening this weekend.

“Deathtrap” follows the story of Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, who is struggling to overcome a dry spell.

After a string of failures and a shortage of money, he finds a silver lining when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college.

Mr. Bruhl immediately recognizes the thriller as a potential Broadway hit.

So, he devises a plan with his wife’s help, to collaborate with the student, who accepts. Suspense mounts steadily as the plot twists throughout the play.

The play will run for three consecutive weekends, Jan. 26 through Feb. 11.

Cast members include: Elise Ariel, Michael Bertone, Shawn Cox, Margo Heine, and Eric Trumbull.

Scott J. Strasbaugh directs the play and Evelyn Rice will serve as producer.

“Deathtrap” is sponsored by Centerview Title Group.

Rated PG-13 for adult themes.

Performances will take place at the community theatre at Vint Hill, 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton.

Shows start at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Adults, $17; students and seniors 60+, $15.

Tickets available online or by calling 540-349-8760.

The Fauquier Community Theatre is partially supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment of the Arts.
