The Robert L. Sinclair Education Center at 4118 Winchester Road in Marshall.
The Fauquier Heritage & Preservation Foundation will host the dedication and grand opening of the Robert L. Sinclair Education Center on Saturday, Oct. 14, in Marshall.

The event will take place at 4118 Winchester Road, next to the John K. Gott Library. An open house will follow the dedication at 9:30 a.m.

The center’s name honors Mr. Sinclair’s decades of service to the foundation. During the dedication a plaque will be unveiled honoring the people most instrumental in the founding of the education center.

The new facility includes space for lectures, presentations and exhibits. The foundation will display newly acquired household artifacts, recently transcribed letters and historic county maps. The theme will be “Fauquier People, Places and their Homes.”

Music will be provided by Skip Glascock’s Cobbler Mountain Grass Band. Light refreshments will be served.

The Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation houses a superb repository of research materials for history lovers and genealogists.

The Oct. 14 event is open to the public.

For more information about the foundation, call 540-364-3440 or 703-403-1309.

How fitting an honor for a man whose name is synonymous with Marshall. Bob's contributions to Fauquier as a teacher, principal and member of the county Planning Commission and School Board, in addition to his countless days of service in this precious community that honors him, are a reflection of his innumerable gifts and talents. Truly a blessing for all who know him.
