Landscape water feature workshop Saturday, July 29

The workshop will begin at 1 p.m. at the Number 18 Schoolhouse near Marshall.
A free presentation on “Water Features in a Garden or Landscape” will take place Saturday, July 29, near Marshall.

Fauquier County Master Gardeners and Virginia Cooperative Extension will present the workshop, starting at 1 p.m. at the Number 18 Schoolhouse on Route 55 east of the village.
“Pond Doctor” Mark King will discuss different ways to introduce water into your backyard. Ponds, waterfalls and fountains attract different forms of wildlife and provide soothing sounds and sights.

Tours of the garden pond, which Mr. King recently renovated, in the schoolhouse Demonstration Gardens will follow the presentation.
The presentation is part of the Saturday Afternoons in the Garden program, a series of horticultural classes held from spring to fall each year for the community.  The classes are taught by horticultural experts and seasoned Master Gardeners and cover a broad range of topics.

The program is free of charge and open to the public, rain or shine. It will last 60 to 90 minutes. It is recommended to register and arrive early. The programs are held outdoors, some seats will be provided, but attendees may choose to bring their own lawn chair. Parking is limited at the schoolhouse. Additional parking is available at the Northern Fauquier Community Park or along Whiting Road.
