Motorcycle travel blogger will speak here Aug. 27

Retired motorcycle police officer Hawk Hagebak writes the “Code of the Road” blog.
The Fauquier County Public Library on Sunday, Aug. 27, will host “Code of the Road” blogger Hawk Hagebak, whose writing takes “a humorous look at the adventures of motorcycling and travel.”

The program will begin at 2 p.m. in the John Barton Payne building at 2 Courthouse Square in Warrenton.

In addition to his blog, Mr. Hagebak has written several best-selling guidebooks on motorcycle travel in the southeastern United States. His love of motorcycles began on the back of his mother’s purple Honda. For more than a decade, Mr. Hagebak was an officer in the Cobb County, Ga., police motorcycle squad.

His presentation is part of the monthly “Sunday with the Library” series. Sponsored by the Friends of the Fauquier Library, the series this fall also will feature:

• Sept. 10: “Trees Up Close: Discover the Secrets of Everyday Trees” by Nancy Ross Hugo.

• Oct. 22: “Saving Monticello” by Marc Leepson.

• Nov. 12: “Voices of the West” by Nick Kotz.

This programs are fee, with no reservation required. I
