Ladies of the American Red Cross Piedmont Chapter pose for an photo in Northern Fauquier County circa 1915.
The Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail will open a new exhibit, “Everywhere for Everyone: Fauquier’s Red Cross,” on Saturday, March 2.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the museum will host an event to introduce the exhibit. Red Cross History Family Day will include children’s crafts, period uniforms and a Clara Barton impersonator, according to historical society Executive Director Erin Clark.
Winchester and Charlottesville chapters of the Red Cross will co-host the free event.
“Visitors will discover the role and actions taken by the citizens of Fauquier County to aid the Red Cross throughout the 20th century and explore the history of the Red Cross with hands-on activities and uniformed re-enactors,” Ms. Clark said.
March is American Red Cross Month.
The museum is at 10 Ashby St. in Warrenton.
