Supervisor Chris Butler’s knee replacement surgery got moved up to Monday, May 13, forcing him to postpone the meeting planned the next night.
County Supervisor Chris Butler (Lee District) has postponed a community meeting on the proposed data center just north of Remington.
Mr. Butler had scheduled the meeting Tuesday, May 14, at the Remington fire/rescue station.
But, his surgeon this week moved up the supervisor’s long-planned knee replacement surgery. It will take place Monday, May 13, rather than nine days later.
So, the community meeting will not take place before the planning commission continues consideration of Convergent VA LLC’s application for rezoning to build the data center just north of Remington. The commission will meet Thursday, May 16, with its public hearing on the topic still open.
The proposal caused a stir at the county planning commission’s April 18 public hearing on the project in Warrenton.
But, Mr. Butler said he will reschedule the community meeting before the issue moves to the board of supervisors, which has final authority.
He injured the knee 23 years ago as a Fauquier sheriff’s deputy, chasing a suspect and falling on icy stairs.
