“We are eager to learn more about what the community needs from child care providers,” FCCC Executive Director Melissa German said. “The survey is seeking information about children ages 2 to 16 and all types of programs.
“We are excited to hear from the community and to be able to use our resources to ensure all families have access to the care they need.”
FCCC started 25 years ago to help address the need for after-school and summer child care.
By conducting a community-wide needs assessment, FCCC hopes to gain information from a larger, more representative group than can be done by just working with current program participants, according to Ms. German.
“Working with Research America ensures that honest and objective description of needs will be obtained and new, previously unidentified needs may be discovered,” she said. “The information gathered will be used to ensure that actions taken by FCCC independently or with other community organization are in line with the needs expressed by the community.”
Research America Senior Director of Operations Tom Ramsburg heads the survey team.
