The Fauquier Community Theatre presents the musical “The Secret Garden,” a compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal, May 5 to 21.

Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire, England to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin.

The estate where they live has many wonders include a magic garden that beckons the children with haunting melodies and spirits from Mary’s past.

Based on the beloved book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, “The Secret Garden” stays true to form with a fantastic score and beautiful songs.

“It is a tale that is heartwarming and magical,” producer Ricardo Padilla said. “You will leave the theater humming the songs and hoping some of the magic stays with you.”

Alyssa Kiffer stars as Mary Lennox alongside 31 other actors, singers, and dancers.

Ivy Elizabeth will direct “The Secret Garden.”

Performances will take place at the community theatre, 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton in Vint Hill.

Shows start at 8 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Adults, $18; children ages 3 to 18 and seniors 60+, $16.

Tickets available online or by calling 540-349-8760.
