Warrenton interchange info meeting tonight at LFCC
An interchange with a roundabout on each side will replace the signal-controlled intersection, where traffic often backs up for more than a mile.
The Virginia Department of Transportation will host a meeting Tuesday, Nov. 13, for citizens to learn about the upcoming construction of an interchange at the southern end of the Warrenton Eastern Bypass.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in The Barn at Lord Fairfax Community College, 6480 College St. A brief presentation will be delivered at 5:30 p.m.
The $19.6-million project will start this winter. Traffic will begin to use the new interchange in summer 2020, with total completion of the project late that year.
VDOT staff members, engineers from Dewberry and Shirley Contracting Co. will be available at the Nov. 13 meeting to discuss the design-build project and answer questions.
The project will replace the intersection of Route 15/17/29 Business, the bypass and Lord Fairfax Road with a grade-separated interchange and two roundabouts.
Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in the Nov. 13 meeting may contact VDOT at 540-829-7500, 800-367-7623 or TTY/TDD 711.
