Citizens can hop inside four helicopters and several military, fire and rescue vehicles at Warrenton Town Limits on Friday.
The fourth annual Warrenton Town Limits, a patriotic community event, takes place 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 29.

The free event, held at the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility, 800 Waterloo Road, features a family-friendly atmosphere.

Warrenton’s recreation department hosts the event. Gates open at 3 p.m.

Activities include music; food trucks; five helicopters, a hot air balloon and several military vehicles on display; children’s activities; contests; 62 vendors; open swim and fitness classes at the WARF and a skydiver.

Eleven restaurants will serve food on site.

The event culminates with a huge, 20-minute fireworks display at dusk.

Last year about 10,000 citizens attended.

Parking available at Fauquier High School, Warrenton Middle School and in public parking lots in Old Town Warrenton.

A free shuttle service will run every 15 minutes from Warrenton Middle School and the Main Street Post office to the WARF from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Relax! It's their event. Let them call it what they will. Enjoy, laugh, visit, eat, drink, be merry. The secret to life is enjoying the passage of time (I stole that from a song!).

Probably since it's being held on June 29th and not July 4th.

"Patriotic Event"? Is it now too politically incorrect to say "Independence Day"?
