Fauquier easily wins opener; Kettle Run falls

Falcons dominate

Fauquier opened the season with a 42-12 win over visiting Loudoun County.

Dakari Mullins scored four touchdowns for the Falcons, who amassed more than 360 yards on offense.

Falcon senior quarterback Ryan Crabtree rushed for 120 yards and passed for 111.

Fauquier’s defense stymied Loudoun County all night.

The Falcons (1-0) will visit Heritage (1-0) at 7 p.m. next Friday in Leesburg. The Pride defeated James Wood, 34-7, in their opener.

Kettle Run falls

Loudoun Valley defeated Kettle Run, 56-27, in the home opener for both teams.

The visitors spoiled the debut of Charlie Porterfield as the Cougars’ second new coach in as many years.

Kettle Run senior receiver Tony Rocca caught two touchdown passes from junior quarterback Casen Chumley, who completed 16 of 31 passes for 229 years.

The Cougars (0-1) will host Albemarle (0-1) at 7 p.m. next Friday. The Patriots lost their opener, 28-21, in overtime at Brookville.

Eagles idle this week

Liberty will open its season against visiting Woodgrove (1-0) next Friday at 7 p.m.

The Wolverines won their opener, 30-3, at John Champe.

The Eagles had a bye this week.
