Freeman’s Ford intersection subject of March 21 meeting

VDOT representatives and Supervisor Chris Butler will discuss potential safety improvements at James Madison Highway and Freeman’s Ford Road during the town hall meeting Wednesday, March 21, in Remington.
Lee District Supervisor Chris Butler will conduct a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in Remington.

The meeting will focus on potential safety improvements at James Madison Highway and Freeman’s Ford Road, the site of several horrific accidents in recent years, just west of town.

“This is a community discussion to get input from local residents regarding a few concepts,” Mr. Butler said. “No plans have been submitted or approved for any changes; this is just a community conversation at this point.”

Virginia Department of Transportation Resident Engineer Mark Nesbit and Project Manager Nathan Umburger will attend the meeting.

After the VDOT presentation, Mr. Butler will discuss the fiscal 2019 budget, which the board of supervisors plans to adopt March 22.

The March 21 town hall meeting will take place at the Remington Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department station at 300 E. Marshall St.
