GumDrop Square seeking volunteers for holidays

Volunteer elves will help children in Santa’s Secret Workshop
Experience Old Town Warrenton seeks volunteers to decorate GumDrop Square, wrap presents for Santa’s Secret Workshop and play Santa’s elves.

Volunteers will decorate the John Barton Payne building for GumDrop Square on 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27.

The organization also needs help wrapping presents from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 20-22 and Monday through Thursday, Nov. 27-30.

Additionally, volunteers are sought for shifts at GumDrop Square, and positions remain open for those 14 and older to be elves in Santa’s Secret Workshop.

GumDrop Square welcomes thousands of visitors during the holiday season. It will open after the town’s parade on Friday, Dec. 1, and will remain open the first three weeks of the month: 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays. Visitors can visit and take photos with Santa and children can shop with an elf in Santa’s Secret Workshop.

Main Street will be closed to vehicles the first three Friday nights of December.
