LFCC honors Sarah Yakel’s work on foundation board

Sarah Yakel's financial planning and investment management experience have "greatly benefitted" the community college foundation board, fellow member Lynette Embrey says.
Sarah Yakel, a vice president and trust officer with The Fauquier Bank, has received the Lord Fairfax Community College Board Medallion of Recognition for 2013.

A volunteer on the LFCC Educational Foundation Board since 2007, Ms. Yakel served as its chairwoman in 2012. She has used her financial expertise to help LFCC navigate the challenges of raising and managing money in a difficult economy.

"At The Fauquier Bank, Sarah provides financial planning and investment management advice to clients,” board member Lynette Embrey said. “The LFCC Foundation has greatly benefitted from her expertise in this area, particularly during the last several years of uncertainty in financial markets.

“During Sarah's term on the board, the LFCC Foundation celebrated many successes, including the opening of the Corron Community Development Center."

Ms. Yakel holds a trust management/prelaw degree from Campbell University in North Carolina. Since joining the bank in 2004, Ms. Yakel has focused on comprehensive financial planning and investment management for TFB Wealth Management clients.
