The Nationals beat the White Sox 4-2 in six innings on Wednesday at Pearson Elementary for the Fauquier Babe Ruth Majors championship.

Babe Ruth's Major division is for players ages 11-12.

Bailey Burke got the win for the Nationals. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out eight, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Dustin Donner took control in relief. Donner held the White Sox hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

The top of the first saw the White Sox take an early lead, 2-0.

Todd Dearborn started the rally for the White Sox with a single. A single by Coleman McDaniel then moved Dearborn from first to second.

Nationals base runners came around to score in the first, second, third, and fifth innings.

In the first, the Nationals scored on a groundout by Gehrig Faircloth, bringing home Ty Gravett.

The game's last lead went to the Nationals thanks to a third-inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on a groundout.

The Nationals finished with a record of 19-1-1.
