Obituaries » Billy K. Miller

Billy Kenneth Miller, 86, died peacefully at home in Warrenton on May 1, 2017.

Born March 3, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., Mr. Miller graduated from Fort Hill High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he was a dedicated employee of AT&T for 35 years. He was actively involved in the Warrenton community as a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a Scoutmaster of Troop 1171 and mentor for countless neighborhood children. Mr. Miller was a devoted husband and father who cherished his role as “Granddaddy.”

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 61 years, Nancy Kean Miller; their children, David Miller and wife Wendy, Beth Baldwin and husband Steve, Linda Cloud, Kathy Hayden and husband Wally and Chris Miller and wife Dawn; 12 grandchildren, Kendall, Zachary and wife Paige, Erin and husband Jason, Jamie, Haley, Will, Christopher, Sarah, Alex, Laura and husband Kyle, Matt and Cody, and a great-grandson, Patrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ada Lee Miller, and seven of his eight siblings.

The family would like to offer their appreciation to the compassionate caregivers at Fauquier Hospital, Home Instead and Capital Caring.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday May 5, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton. A reception will follow in Mercy Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fauquier Community Food Bank or to a charity of your choice.

As a Boy Scout Leader Bill provided memorable experiences and was a positive role model for hundreds of boys, including our sons. Our thoughts are with Nancy and their children.
