Christopher Edward Colgan, 54, Amissville, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born Aug. 27, 1962, in Hempstead, N.Y., to Edward J. Colgan Jr. and Patricia Gruebnau Colgan.
Mr. Colgan was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, which he absolutely loved. He moved to Warrenton from New York in 1972 and married his wife, Kay Colgan, in 1995. One of his favorite activities was spending quality time with his daughter McKayla. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and working on projects whether he finished them or not. He loved his dogs, especially Buck, who was his baby.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a daughter, McKayla Kristina Colgan of Amissville; three siblings, Jane Newton and her husband Michael of Gainesville, Karen Burns and her husband Ronald of Huntingtown, Md., and Timothy Colgan and his wife Dawn of Orlean; seven nieces and nephews, and one grandniece.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Reformation Lutheran Church, 601 Madison Road, Culpeper. Pastor Brad Hales will conduct the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the church.
