Rev. David Lee Carter Sr., 74, of Bristow, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018, at his residence.
He was born on January 12, 1944, in Warrenton.
He was associate pastor of First Baptist Church in Warrenton, a 33rd Degree Mason and the youngest in Virginia at that particular time to ever receive that rank.
David is survived by his wife, Eunice B. Carter of Bristow; two sons: John “Robbie” (Felicia) Carter Sr. of Bristow and David Lee (Yyonnette) Carter Jr. of Lorton; a daughter, Stephanie Rene Carter of Bristow; two sisters, Joan Hughes of Fredericksburg and Beverly Fitzhugh of Ruckersville; a brother, John Roland Hughes Jr. of Warrenton; nine Grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, when the funeral will begin at First Baptist Church, 39 Alexandria Pike, Warrenton. Rev. Matthew A. Zimmerman Jr. will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be in Bright View Cemetery near Warrenton.
