Kenneth Kates Everritt, 85, of Warrenton, passed away at home on September 21, 2017.
He was born June 23, 1932, in Florida, to the late James K. “Jake” Everritt and Mertie Kates Everritt.
Mr. Everritt was a brick mason most of his, life with a passion for his family and for the Lord. He and his wife, Nira Everritt, celebrated more than 61 years of loving marriage before her passing in September of 2015.
Mr. Everritt was very faithfully involved with Warrenton Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school teacher for many years. As a young man, he was known as a star halfback on the football team at Mount Vernon High School. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle in earlier years and was known to have a penchant for puzzles. He is deeply loved by his family and his presence shall forever be missed.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nira Carol Conley Everritt, and by a son, Barry Kenneth Everritt.
Survivors include his son, Brent Craig Everritt and wife, Donna; his four grandchildren, Joshua Ford Everritt, Heather Marie Moore, Jason Curtis Everritt and Erica Michelle Everritt, and his great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Moore.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, when the service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial will follow at Bright View Cemetery near Warrenton.
