Austin Tanner Queen, 18, of Remington, passed away on February 20, 2018.
He was born on February 22, 1999, in Reston, to the parents of Todd and Lori Hoffmann) Queen.
He graduated from Liberty High School in the spring of 2017, where he was a swimmer for the varsity team. His passions included camping with his fellow Boy Scouts, building computers and gaming with friends, teaching archery to local youth and exploring local Civil War history. Mr. Queen was enrolled at Lord Fairfax Community College, where he was studied cybersecurity.
He lived his life displaying a bright smile and was full of contagious excitement. His polite and comical personality always brought out the best in others. He was best known for his compassion, generous hugs and always said, “Gimme a hug!” Mr. Queen never met a stranger and made friends in all walks of life. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his parents, Todd Queen of Manassas and Lori Queen of Remington. He was a loving brother and best friend to his sister, Andrea Queen. He was loved by his grandparents, Teal and Jean Queen of Remington, and Ron and Dora Hoffmann of Bowling Green, Ky. Mr. Queen was a nephew, cousin and friend to so many, who will always hold him close in their hearts.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 25, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, February 26, at the funeral home. A celebration of life party will be held at the Remington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department at 5 p.m. Monday, February 26.
