Carol Ann Hereford, 72, of Warrenton, passed away at her home June 26, 2017, after a challenging and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 11, 1945, in Warrenton, to the late Charles R. and Martha G. English.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Wade C. Hereford.
Mrs. Hereford was hard working, independent and strong-willed, with a mind of her own. She was highly motivated and a real “go-getter” having started her working career while in high school with several part-time jobs. She graduated in 1963 from JEB High School in Falls Church and continued her employment journey with a career that included bakery manager at Giant Food, followed with moving into the corporate world as a property manager with the distinguished Cafritz Co. in Washington, D.C. She also started her own successful small business in 1996 and then retired after 10 years with Mid-Atlantic Power Specialists Inc. in Sterling.
After retiring, Mrs. Hereford became a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Orlean and found a new family of friends and renewed faith that gave her strength to face the many challenges over the past year.
She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and, although she had no children of her own, Mrs. Hereford loved “little ones” and always enjoyed friends and family sharing their stories and pictures.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens near Manassas.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
