David G. “Dave” Umbel, 66, of Warrenton, passed away on July 21, 2017.
Born Sept. 13, 1950, to the late Merrill and Elsie Umbel, he was native of Uniontown, Pa.
Mr. Umbel retired from Fairfax County Public School as a master pipefitter. He also worked for Quest Diagnostics for 26 years as a supervisor, then as a medical courier. In his free time, he enjoyed trivia, learning history and fun facts, and enjoyed sharing his comedic and artistic abilities. Mr. Umbel had many hobbies and enjoyed working on old cars, going to car shows, hunting and turkey shoots, and trains. He was also an avid bowler.
Mr. Umbel was the beloved husband of 46 years to Tisha; dear father of Melissa Ann Outman, Stephanie Nicole Umbel, (Clay Croson) and the late Robert Scott Umbel. He loved playing with his grandchildren, Quentin David, Madeline Isabella Outman, Clay Croson II and Wyatt Croson. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Marie Frye, and many extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, with the service at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
