Frances Robinson Hitt, 95, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she lived.
She was born February 27, 1923, in Warrenton, to the late William Cameron Robinson and Amalie Hauser Robinson.
Mrs. Hitt was a 56-year resident of The Plains and, along with her husband, a founding member of The Plains Baptist Church. She faithfully volunteered at the church and at The Plains Library for many years.
She was a faithful and devoted wife and loving mother. Mrs. Hitt loved and graciously served her family, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Marvin Clarence Hitt, and her brothers, William C. Robinson Jr. and Harry H. Robinson.
Survivors include her son, Ron of Chesapeake; her daughter, Diane, with whom she resided in Chattanooga, and daughter Deborah and husband Nelson Gutierrez of Centreville; two grandchildren, Justin Hitt and Jennifer H. Jeffries of Portsmouth, and two great granddaughters, Taylor Jeffries and Hailey Jeffries of Portsmouth.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 7, followed by the funeral at The Plains Baptist Church, with interment at Middleburg Memorial Cemetery.
