James Clifton “Jim” Roach, 69, of Bealeton, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born June 21, 1948, in Lynchburg, to the late James and Mildred Roach.
Mr. Roach loved life and never knew a stranger. He made friends everywhere he went. He grew up in Gladys, Virginia, before leaving to join the Air Force in 1968. He served from 1968 to 1972. He married in 1970 and relocated in 1972 to Casanova, where he worked for his uncle at W.G. Roach Paving Company. Always working in road construction, he retired from Superior Paving after 30 years in 2015.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandi Carpenter and husband Stacy of Culpeper and Cindi Myers husband Jamey of Fowler, Michigan; a brother, Beverly Roach; a sister, Barbara Newsome; five grandchildren, Dillon Smith and fiancée Amber Beale, Mikey Carpenter, Justin Myers, Jordan Myers and Candis Myers; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; his friend, Flo Sherbondy and all of her family; many special friends he considered family and last but not least, his little dog, Goldie.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Glenna, and his sister, Catherine Crissinter.
A celebration of Mr. Roach’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department.
