James Fredrick Stanton, 84, of Warrenton, passed away on October 2, 2017, at his home.
He was born September 26, 1933, at Malden, Massachusetts, to the late Michael Joseph and Catherine Fielding Stanton.
Mr. Stanton served in the United States Air Force for 20 years until his retirement. He then worked as a civilian employee at the Pentagon until his second retirement. He was a member of the Warrenton Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A. Stanton; his daughter and her husband, Eileen and Pat; stepchildren Justin and wife Cristina, Meghan and Lauren and three grandchildren; his stepson and wife, Lynwood and Donna Heflin; his stepdaughter and husband, Vanessa and Marc Harris; three step-grandsons, Alan Heflin, Eric Heflin and his wife Jen, Brennen Harris; his great grandson, Carson Heflin, and his siblings, Mary Rosa, Gertrude Bellegarde and Norman Stanton and wife Mary.
He was preceded in death his siblings, Walter Stanton, Joseph Stanton, Thomas Stanton, Edward Stanton, Patricia Stanton and Margaret Boner.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, October 5, when the service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Rev. Douglas L. Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Bright View Cemetery near Warrenton.
