James Milton Fry Jr., 80, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, surrounded by his family at his home in Warrenton.
He was born January 7, 1937, in Strasburg, to the late James & Lillian Fry.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ingrid H. Fry; two daughters, Deloris E. Johnson and husband Randall of Midland and Nancy M. Frazier and husband Stephen of Bealeton; eight siblings, Thelma F. Shifflett of Middletown, Ellen P. Barrick and husband Charles of Strasburg, Ray C. Fry of West Virginia, Clarence E. Fry and wife Barbara of Toms Brook, Martha A. Stonis and husband Ron of Maine, Marshall E. Fry and wife Carolyn of Defiance, Ohio, Dorothy E. Henry and husband Steve of Lanham, Md., and Jerry W. Fry of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren, Crystal, Ashleigh, James, Kelly, Austin, Destiny, Dustin, Dylan, Paula, Amber, Michelle and Cecilia, and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Melvin Fry, and four siblings, Jean M. Snow, Jeanette L. Evans, Elmer L. Fry and Bobby L. Fry.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Culpeper National Cemetery, followed by a gathering at Warrenton American Legion Post 72 after 2 p.m.
