Joseph Palmer Dutton Sr., 75, of Sumerduck, passed in peace at home on June 28, 2017.
He was born June 2, 1942, in Clintwood, to the late Isom Palmer Dutton and Annie Laura Honaker Dutton.
Mr. Dutton was a firm believer of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. He was a retired structural iron worker for the Iron Workers Local Union 5.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Elizabeth Hay Dutton; his children, Jo-Anna Dutton Price and husband Thomas Edward of Ozark, Mo., Rita Dutton Geary and husband Lincoln Todd of Ruther Glenn, Kimberly Dutton Roberts and husband Michael Richard Sr. of Bumpass and Joseph Dutton Jr. and wife Karen Michelle of Fredericksburg; a brother, Henry J. Dutton of Centreville; a sister, Nancy Meshmesa of Burke; six grandchildren, Michael Richard Roberts Jr., Laura Elizabeth Duvall, Erica Marie Duvall, Kyle Tyler Geary, Joseph Palmer Dutton III and Brooke Allison Dutton; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn, Carter, Tyler, Payleigh and Braden, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Dutton (2 years old), Ersil Mullins and Bill Mullins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
