Leonard Lorney “Duck” King Jr., 82 of Broad Run, passed away on December 6, 2017, at his home.
He was born June 11, 1935, in Fauquier County, to the late Leonard Lorney King Sr. and Minnie O’Bannion King.
On August 5, 1956, he and Alberta were wed and spent 61 years happily married.
Mr. King worked for William A. Hazel for the past 61 years and enjoyed every minute. He loved fishing, hunting and playing horseshoes. Walking was another of his passions. He always enjoyed family gatherings and conversation which included lots of laughs and heart-felt memories.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Alberta Cary King; four daughters, Alice (Herman) King of Marshall, Alberta King of Manassas, Elizabeth King of North Carolina and Eleanor (Vondell) Porter of Manassas; a son, Leonard King III of Remington; a sister, Minnie Ella Barbour; a brother-in-law, Milton Woodson; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, December 12, when the Rev. Douglas Gore will conduct the service at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will follow at Little Georgetown Cemetery near Broad Run.
