Mary Elam O’Bannon, 85, of Marshall, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 8, 2019, in Warrenton.
She was born on June 27, 1933, in Remington, to George and Elsie Elam.
She retired from Marshall National Bank (PNC Bank) after 27 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie O’Bannon Sr. and four sisters, Alma Rector, Betty Monis, Irene Poe and Thelma Williams.
She is survived by her children, Bernie O’Bannon Jr. of Warrenton, Jeff O’Bannon and his wife Chrissy of Hume, and Mary Lou Bobst of Marshall; her grandchildren, Michael O’Bannon of Warrenton, Lindsay O’Bannon of San Francisco, Mike Loving of Rixeyville, Adam O’Bannon of Woodbridge, Cody O’Bannon of Hume, Brandon Bobst of Inwood, W.Va.; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George Elam of Front Royal, and two sisters, Elsie Martin of Front Royal and Doris Elam of Marshall.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, January 12, when the service will begin at Royston Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment will be at Leeds Cemetery near Markham.
