Neil Allen Hunter, 79, of Warrenton, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was born October 15, 1938, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, to the late Donald and Avis Hunter.
Neil graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy and Dracut High School, where he played trumpet in the band. He also played baseball and basketball in high school and later at Wentworth University in Boston, where he earned an associate’s degree.
Neil is survived by his two sons, Eric N. Hunter and his wife Annette of Columbia, Md., and Adam D. Hunter and his wife Vicki of Prospect, Tennessee; two siblings, Joanne G. Hunter of Warrenton and Earl W. Hunter and his wife Faye of Willow Springs, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Ashley Stevenson, Austin White, Zachary Hunter, Maura Hunter, Jessica Hunter, Joshua Hunter and Corey Conway, and a great grandchild, Aspen Stevenson.
In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his wife, Betty G. Hunter.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, when a memorial service will begin at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Interment will take place at the Warrenton Cemetery.
