Odelle Watts Moon, of Gainesville and formerly of Broad Run, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on February 5, 2018, three days prior to her 85th birthday.
She was born on February 8, 1933, in Amherst County, one of six children of the late Willie L. and Fannie Creasey Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charlie Thomas Moon.
Mrs. Moon was a graduate of the Lynchburg College Business School and retired after service to the United States government. Her favorite occupation was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a longtime active member of Warrenton Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Tom Moon, Mike and Jackie Moon, Patty and Jeff Brillhart and Dan and Theresa Moon, and 10 grandchildren, Jessica (Andy), Chris, Ben and Lauren Grace Moon, Somer (Kody), Moriah (Jake) and Brace Brillhart and Mathew, Nicholas and Connor Moon.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bright View Cemetery near Warrenton.
