Obituaries » Randolph A. Glascock Sr.

Randolph A. Glascock Sr., 84, of Bealeton, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 20, 2018.

Born February 26, 1933, in Marshall, he was the last surviving child of the eleven born to Harry and Mary Glascock

Mr. Glascock served in the US Army from June 1953 until June 1955. He retired from Quarles Oil after 32 years and worked for the Fauquier Democrat for 12 years. One of his favorite pastimes was sports; he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. Mr. Glascock was a member of Bealeton Baptist Church; he was known for his sense of humor and for making both an excellent caramel cake and peanut butter fudge. Mostly, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Edwards Glascock; children and their spouses, Susan McClanahan, Lois Grimsley and her husband Butch, Ginger Hudson and her husband, Mike, Randy Glascock Jr., Karen Howard and her husband Jeff and son-in-law, Tom Hamilton. He was the grandfather of Gary McClanahan, Jesse McClanahan, Jeremiah Williams, Jacob Williams, Katie Matthews, Randi Grimsley, Andy Jenkins, Josh Graves, John Graves, Michael Hudson, Nicholas Hudson, Maggie Hudson, Stephanie Glascock, Luke Howard and Sam Howard and the great-grandfather of Michelle and Ashley McClanahan, Chad, Collin and Cadence McClanahan, Isabella and Luke Dixon, Bailey and Dominic Matthews, Makenna Castillo, Ryan and Julia Jenkins and Kori Hutson. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mr. Glascock was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Hamilton on February 4, 2017, as well as his parents, siblings and a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27, at Bealeton Baptist Church.
